The R86mini is a digital two-phase open loop stepper driver from Rtelligent. It takes 18~80 V AC or 24~100 V DC, outputs up to 7.2 A per phase and integrates an intelligent motion controller with built-in S-shaped acceleration and deceleration. A USB port is used to configure it, so the drive can be tuned and its IO reassigned without changing the wiring.

The R86mini accepts PUL + DIR or CW + CCW pulse commands from an external controller. It also has an internal pulse mode in which the PUL and DIR terminals become IO inputs, so a start/stop signal and a direction signal run the motor at one of 16 speeds selected by DIP switches SW5 to SW8. Acceleration and deceleration are set in the debugging software.

Output current is set by SW1 to SW3 in 8 gears from 2.40 A to 7.20 A peak, and other currents can be custom-made. SW4 sets the standby current: with SW4 off the winding current falls to 50 percent one second after the pulses stop. SW5 to SW8 set steps per revolution from 400 to 40000, and because control is digital any subdivision between 200 and 65535 can be set.

Yes. The R86mini has a phase loss alarm that detects a loose or broken motor winding both at standstill and while running, and outputs an alarm signal so the machine does not make a wrong move. The LED shows the fault: one green and seven red flashes is motor phase loss, one green and one red is overcurrent, one green and two red is input overvoltage. Below 300 mA the detection can be switched off in the software.
