The AM series is a 2 phase closed-loop stepper motor range from Rtelligent with a built-in high-resolution encoder and an optional Z signal. It uses an optimised magnetic circuit, high magnetic density stator and rotor materials and a compact M-shaped mould, which keeps the motor light and reduces installation space. A permanent magnet brake is optional, which helps on vertical Z-axis applications.

The AM series covers 20mm (NEMA 8), 28mm (NEMA 11), 42mm (NEMA 17), 57mm (NEMA 23), 60mm (NEMA 24) and 86mm (NEMA 34) frames. Holding torque ranges from 0.03 N.m on the 20AM003EC up to 12 N.m on the 86AM120ED, all with a 1.8 degree step angle. Rated current runs from 0.6A on the smallest model to 6.0A on the 86mm motors.

In 57AM23ED, 57 is the base size in mm, A is the 1.8 degree step angle, M is the M series, 23 is the holding torque of 2.3 N.m, E is the 1000 line photoelectric encoder and D is the DB9 encoder plug outlet.
