485 fieldbus stepper drive NT86 is based on RS-485 network to run Modbus RTU protocol. The intelligent motion control function is integrated, and with external IO control, it can complete functions such as fixed position/fixed speed/multi-position/auto-homing.

NT86 matches open loop or closed loop stepper motors below 86mm.

The NT86 supports open-loop and closed-loop stepper motors with a frame size below 86 mm, making it the larger companion to the NT60. It runs the Modbus RTU protocol over RS-485 and accepts a wide 18–110 VDC or 18–80 VAC supply, which suits larger stepper motors on machines that need fieldbus control.

The NT86 offers fixed length, fixed speed, homing, multi-speed, multi-position and potentiometer speed regulation modes. With its integrated motion control and external I/O, it completes auto-homing and multi-position moves without a separate motion controller. Setup and tuning are done in RTConfigurator software through the multiplexed RS-485 interface.

The NT86 has two differential or encoder inputs (IN1 and IN2), four single-ended common-anode inputs (IN3 to IN6) and two outputs (OUT1 and OUT2). The slave ID is set with DIP switches SW1 to SW5, and SW6 and SW7 select 9600, 19200, 38400 or 115200 baud to match the master station. Restart the drive after changing any switch.
